I'm going to make my own cranberry juice. 1 cup Cranberries, 1 cup of sugar ( I'll use about a half natural sweetener) Fill a quart with water and seal. I'll process in my canner. Use hot water if not canning and seal. Let "marinate" for about 3-4 weeks. Ready to enjoy. I've been stocking up this year, last year was a bust for cranberries.

In reply to <a href="https://thenutritionwatchdog.com/cranberries-not-just-for-the-holidays/#comment-20601">Helen Evans</a>.

Hi Helen, the cranberries themselves don't cause the blood to thin, but may cause an interaction when mixed with a blood thinner. Even natural remedies can be harmful if mixed with the wrong drug so I recommend to consult with your doctor or pharmacist. Here's some information that may interest you http://www.webmd.com/vitamins-supplements/ingredientmono-958-cranberry.aspx?activeingredientid=958

I have a problem of urinary tract infections, and I bought a bottle of pure cranberry capsules to take for it. When I read the instructions on the label, it said if you are on a blood thinner don't take these capsules. I'm on Plavix blood thinner. Does this mean cranberries thin the blood? Then
I can't take this natural remedy? Please give me an answer . Thank you.
